B Corp Certification is awarded to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Deminor is one of the first Litigation Funders globally, and the first outside of the US to achieve “Certified B Corporation” status.

This globally recognised certification is awarded to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. 

B Corp Certification is issued by B Lab, a non-profit organisation founded in 2006 and headquartered in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, USA.

B Lab developed the B Corp standards to promote a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic system. Today, there are over 8,000 certified B Corps across more than 90 countries, spanning over 150 industries.

A Rigorous, Independent Assessment

To achieve certification Deminor underwent a comprehensive B Impact Assessment across five key areas:

  • Governance: Governance evaluates a company’s overall mission, engagement around its social/environmental impact, ethics, and transparency” and examines “the ability of a company to protect their mission and formally consider stakeholders in decision making through their corporate structure or governing documents
  • Workers: Workers evaluates a company’s contributions to its employees’ financial security, health & safety, wellness, career development, and engagement & satisfaction
  • Community: Community evaluates a company’s engagement with and impact on the communities in which it operates, hires from, and sources from” and covers topics including “diversity, equity & inclusion, economic impact, civic engagement, charitable giving, and supply chain management
  • Environment: Environment evaluates a company’s overall environmental management practices as well as its impact on the air, climate, water, land, and biodiversity” and recognises “companies with environmentally innovative production processes and those that sell products or services that have a positive environmental impact
  • Customers: Customers evaluates a company’s stewardship of its customers through the quality of its products and services, ethical marketing, data privacy and security, and feedback channels” and also recognises “products or services that are designed to address a particular social problem for or through its customers

Deminor scored above the 80-point threshold required for certification and, as part of the certification process, Deminor amended its legal governance structure to include stakeholder interests — ensuring that decisions are made not only in the interest of shareholders, but also in service of employees, clients, communities, and the planet.
