Arco FAQs
Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the ongoing court proceedings on behalf of Arco cooperative shareholders.
1. Why are Deminor and ArcoClaim opening this new registration?
Of all Arco cooperative shareholders, approximately 30,000 have so far registered with one of the two organisations. We would like to give all other cooperative shareholders who are not yet participating the opportunity to register their interest with us. This will allow us to keep them informed about developments in the case and any new actions that may be proposed.
If the Belgian government sells a stake in Belfius Bank without implementing the promised compensation scheme, this may give rise to new claims that are not yet time-barred. Arco cooperative shareholders who have not participated in the ongoing legal proceedings may then be able to bring these claims before the courts and seek the compensation that was promised. Deminor and ArcoClaim want to give these cooperative shareholders the opportunity to participate in any such new proceedings.
2. I am already registered with Deminor or ArcoClaim. Do I need to register again?
If you are already registered with Deminor or ArcoClaim and are participating in one of the ongoing legal proceedings, you do NOT need to register again. This registration is intended for individuals who have not previously registered with either Deminor or ArcoClaim.
3. Where can I ask questions?
At this time, it is not possible to submit questions. Registration alone is sufficient. We will keep you informed of any new developments and let you know if further action is required.
4. The Arco cooperative shareholder has passed away. Who should register?
You can register on behalf of a deceased Arco cooperative shareholder if you are a legal heir.
5. Is there a fee to register?
No. There is no fee for this registration.
We cannot exclude the possibility that a financial contribution may be requested for any subsequent action. In that case, the fee will be exclusively success-based.
6. Do I incur any legal risk by registering?
No. You do not incur any legal risk by registering. Registration simply allows us to keep you informed about new developments.
If further action is proposed, we will provide you with additional information at that time.
7. What will happen after I register?
a. You will receive a confirmation of your registration by email.
b. You will regularly receive newsletters containing the latest developments in the Arco case. Should we decide to take further steps, we will inform you by email. You will then be free to decide whether or not to participate.
8. How will I be kept informed of new developments?
